I am Intentional…I Think

Let’s talk about this whole “intention” thing, shall we?

If you’ve ever found yourself in a yoga class with one hand over your heart, the other on your belly, inhaling deeply as the instructor says, “Set an intention for your practice,” you’re not alone. I’ve been there too, fretting whether I was doing it “right”.

Was I supposed to intend to keep all of my chaturangas off of the floor? To commit to not being judgmental of people in my interactions that day? To simply smile at each person I crossed paths with? Was my intention too big and broad? Was it too narrow and self-centered? What exactly does setting an intention mean anyway?

It’s funny how such a seemingly straightforward thing can leave us second-guessing ourselves, isn’t it? But here’s the truth: being intentional doesn’t have to be complicated. It’s not about doing it “right” or setting perfectly curated goals—it’s about being purposeful in how you show up for your life, even in the smallest ways.

What Does It Really Mean to Be Intentional?

At its core, being intentional means living with purpose. It’s about deciding how you want to be and what truly matters to you—and then aligning your actions, habits, and choices with that vision.

It’s like steering the ship instead of drifting wherever the waves take you. Small, deliberate actions can lead to big, beautiful change over time, and it all starts with simply paying attention.

Here’s an example:

  • Unintentional Living: Grabbing your phone first thing in the morning and scrolling through social media before your feet even hit the floor.

  • Intentional Living: Waking up and choosing to start your day with prayer, gratitude, a cup of coffee, or even a quick moment to set the tone for the day ahead.

See the difference? Intentional living doesn’t mean being perfect or having it all figured out—it means showing up for your life on purpose.

Why Being Intentional Matters (Especially Now)

We’re already into January—a time when so many of us are tempted to write out grand resolutions that we forget about by mid-February. Sound familiar? That’s because goals without intention often fall flat. They’re all about what you want to achieve, not how you want to live along the way.

When you act intentionally, you’re focusing on what matters most, and that clarity keeps you grounded and aligned, even when life gets busy.

  • Want stronger relationships? Be intentional about showing up for the people you care about.

  • Craving more peace in your day? Be intentional about how you start and end it.

  • Dreaming of a big goal? Break it down into small, purposeful steps.

The beauty of intention is that it brings purpose to your day-to-day life while keeping you connected to the bigger picture.

Join Our 28-Day I Am Intentional Challenge

So here’s the deal: we’ve started 2025 intentionally—literally. On January 1st, we kicked off a 28-Day Challenge using the I Am Intentional: A 28-Day Guided Journal, but it’s not too late to join! Just because you didn’t start on January 1st, doesn’t mean you shouldn’t start at all. In fact, we think this is a perfect time!

For 28 days, we are writing in the journal every single day, focusing on small, intentional actions to bring purpose, clarity, and calm to our lives. This isn’t about perfection; it’s about taking time to reflect and act on what matters most.

Here’s why this challenge is a game-changer:

  1. It Brings Awareness: You’ll start noticing where you’re spending your time and energy—and where you’re not.

  2. It Helps You Take Action: Small, intentional actions add up over time, and this journal will help you stay consistent.

  3. It Keeps You Accountable: There’s something powerful about committing to a daily practice—especially when you know others are doing it, too.

Whether you’re feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or just ready for a fresh start, this challenge will help you reset and create space for what matters most in 2025.

  3. Show Up Every Day: Commit to writing in your journal daily. Even 5 minutes counts—progress over perfection, always.

  4. Celebrate the Little Wins: At the end of 28 days, reflect on how you feel. Small steps add up to big transformations, and this is just the beginning.

Final Thoughts: Living With Purpose

Here’s what I’ve learned about being intentional: It’s not about “getting it right” or making grand gestures—it’s about showing up for yourself and your loved ones, day after day, in the ways that matter most to you.

Maybe it’s choosing to start your day without your phone.
Maybe it’s carving out time for a daily gratitude practice.
Maybe it’s simply reminding yourself to breathe when life feels overwhelming.

Whatever it looks like for you, the most important thing is that you choose it. Because living intentionally is just that—a choice.

So, are you ready live 2025 with purpose? Join us for the 28-Day Challenge, grab your I Am Intentional journal, and let’s start this year with intention, clarity, and a whole lot of heart.

You’ve got this! Let’s make 2025 your most intentional year yet. 💛
